Property tax payments due this week

The first deadline to pay 2020-21 property taxes is coming quickly.

Del Norte County Tax Collector Barbara M. Lopez said the deadline for the first installment of the 2020-21 secured property taxes in Dec. 10.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tax collector’s office is not open to take in-person payments, but a secure drop box has been set up outside the main doors at the Flynn Administration Building for payments to be dropped off.

Payments can also be made through the mail, online or by phone. Property taxes can be paid by check, money order or cashier’s check through the mail. Online payments can be made with a credit/debit card, E-Check or by calling 1-844-368-3145. If you are making electronic payments, some fees will be charged.
