Choose the Narrow Road and Find God’s Will for Your Life

By Daphne Cortese-Lambert

Are you ready for freedom and a love that can heal you and complete you? Then, accept the invitation to live in the righteousness of Christ as God’s beloved child. It is a life of adventure and continual surprises and growth, filled with a self-examination that will lead you through tears to peace and wholeness to equip you to find God’s perfect will for your life.

In His infinite love, God gives you the freedom to choose. You can allow circumstances and worldly influences to shape your life or embrace the inheritance Jesus secured through His sacrifice and the supernatural power to shine His light.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matt. 7:13–14). In John 10:9, Jesus identifies Himself as the gate that leads to abundant life.

By making Scripture your treasured roadmap, you can navigate the narrow path leading to purpose. Choose the narrow gate each day and remain on its path to experience God’s perfect will. Every step matters.

James 4 explores what it means to live close to God and warns that flirting with the world’s values places you at odds with God (v.4). The subtle influence of the world can sway us off the path the Lord has for us. What do you value? “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:34).

We are led by our desires. If you desire God, ask Him to align your desires with His. God sees our hearts and understands our human weakness. Treasure His ways and let each challenge become an opportunity for transformation.

Romans 12:2 gives us advice on how to use circumstance to awaken our true identity and find God’s perfect will for our lives: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

God can turn your sorrows to joy and bring purpose to perplexity. He promises to use everything that comes into your life for your good if you trust Him (Rom. 8:28). Trusting is a choice to walk the narrow road with the knowledge you are never walking alone.
