Let Wisdom be Your Guide

Are you feeling overwhelmed? There are times in life when we feel isolated, lost and overwhelmed by life’s circumstances. We can be surrounded by people and still feel very alone. These are the times that God is calling you closer and deeper to experience something only God can give you.

Let me share a brief allegory. Feeling overwhelmed can be like standing on a small patch of land as the sea rises around you. As the water climbs, you search for the next step, but none appears, and panic begins to set in. Then you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder and turn to see Jesus smiling. He has been there all along, waiting for you to become aware of His presence. He points, and a rock appears. You step onto it, and then another appears. Slowly, step by step, you begin to see a clear path. Your fear of drowning blinded you from a lifeline prepared for you in love.

Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.” God has a solution for every situation we face, but we must humble ourselves, turn to His Word and direction in Scripture, and be willing to act in faith. Psalm 23:1, 3 reminds us, “The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. He guides me along the right paths for His Name’s sake.” God’s desire is that we lack nothing socially, emotionally, physically, or spiritually. These verses offer more than answers; they invite us into relationship with Him, where we are never alone but protected and guided (Acts 2:25-28). With each supernatural solution, our faith grows, and we become more aware of His presence and direction in our lives. “Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go” (Prov. 3:6).

“Whether you turn to the right or left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’” (Is. 30:21). No matter which direction we turn, God promises to be present, ready to guide us. His direction teaches us to walk in wisdom, discover our purpose, and live with strength and hope. It renews us, helps us do what is right, brings healing, and steadies us so that life’s tests do not cause us to stumble (Prov. 3:21–23).

As a child of God, the only thing you are to be overwhelmed by is God’s Love!
