You may be missing out on some of the fun, unless you become part of it

Last Friday served up one of those lovely autumn afternoons made for good company, good music, and merry mingling at the “Curry County Chamber Mixer”, orchestrated by “Michele Ramos” and “Marie Curtis”. The gathering at “Salmon Run Golf Course” in Brookings included “Vince Jesse” and “Troy Alvarado”,—known as “The Duo”, who kept the room humming with their own lively brand of rock music. Out on the dance floor, sirens “Claudette Hills”, “Robbie Kaylor”, and “Linnie O’Flanagan” twirled, confidently expressing themselves in dance. Seen hob-knobing with Dr. Gigi was “Bethany” and “Autumn”, of “Chetco Medical Clinic and “Bellezza Spa”.
While enjoying the festivities, I had the pleasure of befriending “Chris Clark”, Salmon Run’s general manager. Chris has graciously agreed to join us on the “Doc and Jacques Radio Show” in October, so stay tuned.
I also caught up with “Jill te Velde”, Dean of “Southwestern Oregon Community College”. We warmly reminisced about “Dr. Kristin Lima”, Dean of “ The College of the Redwoods” in Crescent City, since birds of a feather flock together! Small communities have a magical way of keeping good people connected.
Speaking of wise people, Crescent City resident and good friend, “Tony Durso” may be one of the sharpest minds on the West Coast! Tony has interviewed hundreds of successful “Elite Entrepreneurs” for over a decade and has surely learned a thing or two, or 3, 4, and 5! Look for his weekly column in “The Triplicate” and don’t miss his radio programs and legendary podcasts. Tony D keeps the conversation rolling!
Rumor has it that “The Mighty Steelheads“, founder and rocker, “Vern Monnett“, was seen laying prone under a beer spicket in Deutschland during an early Oktoberfest visit. Prost! On the subject of Beer, our coastal region boasts four unique craft breweries: “Port-O-Pints”, “Seaquake”, “Chetco Brewery” and “Misty Mountain”. That’s a lot of beer, Vern!
To all of you travelers through our fair and lovely landscape of Crescent City, make sure you take the Cliffside journey of “Pebble Beach Drive“, which leads to the historic “Battery Point Lighthouse”. Once there, take your chances on getting across the rocky spit before the tide comes in and holds you hostage. Brrrrr!
Tune into The Doc and Jacques Show at 4-5pm on Wed Sept 23 when “Donna Simon” and “Linda Menne-Wood”, lead a gang of gals into the studio as “Coastal Winds”, instrumental band blows sweet tunes just for you and is broadcast live in the KCIW studio by “Ray Simon”- the best sound engineer around!
Lastly, Keep an eye out for “Scott and Debbie Krzyzanowski”, on the trails beneath the giant redwoods on Howland Hill. They are officially “Titaneers” and go out hiking to ensure that your hike is fun informative and safe!
Shout outs to: “Rick McNamer” and his radio voice on “Curry Cafe” with warlock “Ray Gary!” Talented “Toni Land” and her band. “Nick Martell”-say hello to your dad, “Ray!” “Mr Jay” and “Netters” at “All Star Liquors”, “John-Barbara-Rachel Mendoza” and ere I forget, “Lisa La Pre”, “Jeff Brosier”, “Henry Geiger” and “Sasquatch Slim!”
That’s it for this week! Stay tuned for more fun and wildly interesting folks coming your way!
Cheers!
