Relay for Life to go virtual

The Relay for Life of Crescent City 2020 annual fundraiser has been changed to a virtual event due to COVID-19, organizers announced Tuesday.

“The majority of our survivors are immune compromised individuals,” chairperson

Chelsea Sanyaolu wrote. “Public Health mandates no mass gatherings be held through summer. The Relay for Life of Crescent City committee has decided that in lieu of the event being held at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds on July 17 from 6 p.m. July 17 to 6 p.m. July 18, the Relay for Life of Crescent City will be held as a virtual event.”

Sanyaolu said survivor packets will be delivered or available for pickup. Check the group’s Facebook page to learn more as the event gets closer. Donations or luminarias can be made for this event at relayforlife.org/crescentcity.
