Excerpts from the call logs of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:
Thursday, Aug. 20:
- At 3:47 a.m., a female subject reported being attacked in the 400 block of M Street.
- At 8:12 a.m., a female subject reported while she was in jail, someone went through her purse in her apartment in the 4100 block of Highway 169 in Klamath and stole several items.
- At 10:40 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Humboldt Road reported his son broke into the home again.
- At 10:50 a.m., a report of a bunch of hypodermic needles found in the recycling in the 700 block of Washington Boulevard.
- At 12:37 p.m., a report of a bike stolen several days ago from the 1500 block of Oregon Street.
- At 2:08 p.m., a report of a brush fire in the 13800 block of Highway 101 in Smith River.
- At 2:50 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Northcrest Drive reported receiving a call from a female subject claiming to be an officer from the Sheriff’s Office wanting him to come to the station to discuss complaints made about his property.
- At 3:37 p.m., a report of a transformer on fire in the 12800 block of Indian Road in Smith River.
- At 7:36 p.m., a report of a single vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist with unknown injuries at mile post 9.44 on Highway 199 in Gasquet.
- At 8:55 p.m., a resident in the Smugglers Cove area reported an ongoing issue with a neighbor’s dog barking all day and night.
- At 9:02 p.m., multiple reports of aerial fireworks in the area of Harding and Eldorado streets.
- At 9:17 p.m., a report of a subject spray painting a vehicle in a pullout on Skateboard Hill on Pebble Beach Drive.
- At 9:58 p.m., a report of a foul smell in the area of Blackwell and Evergreen Lane.
- At 10:09 p.m., a report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at mile post 25.69 on Highway 199 in Gasquet with at least two patients, once with chest pains the others with unknown injuries.
