Update: New CHP facility open house cancelled
The open house slated for Aug. 20 for the new California Highway Patrol facility in Crescent City has been officially cancelled.
In a letter from Crescent City CHP Lt. Cmdr. L.R. Depee, the ceremony was cancelled in the wake of the Aug. 12 traffic stop in Riverside Calif., that erupted into a gunfight that took the life of Officer Andrew Moye, Jr. and injured officers Robert Paul and Ryan Smith.
CHP staff moved operations into the new facility, located at 1630 Summer Lane, about two months ago.
