Respondents say health is greatest concern during pandemic

Readers who responded to the latest online poll published by the Del Norte Triplicate and Curry Coastal Pilot indicated they were more concerned with health, including risk of COVID-19, than anything else — although social unrest and money, including job loss and higher prices related to the virus, was also a concern.

Reader concerns, by percentage, were as follows:

40% concerned about health, including risk of COVID-19

33% concerned about politics, including social unrest

14% concerned about money, including related to COVID-19 job losses or higher prices

6% have no concerns

4% concerned about something else (not related to options)

3% concerned about something else related to COVID-19

Every week a new question is posed to readers. This week’s question, now available on both newspaper websites, is: “What are your thoughts on enforcement of government rules about wearing a face mask because of COVID-19?”

Please choose the option that best reflects your opinion.

Answer options are:

• Police should enforce

• Business should enforce

• Should be no enforcement (up to personal choice)

• Should be no enforcement (or rule)

• Other, not listed

The poll can be found by scrolling down on each newspaper’s website.
