City Fire Celebrates 125th Anniversary
The City of Crescent City recognized and proclaimed its gratitude to the Crescent City Volunteer Fire Department on its 125th Anniversary for faithful and dedicated service.
On hand to accept the Proclamation were working and volunteer firefighters from Crescent Fire Rescue and Crescent Fire Protection District, Chief Kevin Carey and Assistant Fire Chief Richard Wier, the longest serving volunteer at 49 years in the Department.
The Crescent City Fire and Rescue and the Crescent Fire Protection District have been working as a joint unit for over a decade.
The Proclamation recognized the esteemed Class 2 ISO rating, a level reached by less than seven percent of all paid and volunteer departments, nationally.
Over its 125 year history, the Crescent Fire Department has had just six fire chiefs.
