Felony sex charge plea changed to guilty
Suspect Dhruv Mehta waived his Preliminary Hearing and pled guilty to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Mehta, 32, worked as part of the management team of Little Cesar's Pizza in Crescent City, has now been convicted of violating California Penal Code 261.5c engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, a 17 year old employee.
Judge Robert Cochran admonished Mehta on possible consequences, pending a Probation Report. Mehta may be sentenced up to 90 days in jail, $20,000 in fines, up to $10,000 in restitution, if not an American citizen, may be deported and a term of Felony Probation under the supervision of Del Norte County Probation
Formal sentencing is set for Thursday, December 5 at 2pm, in Department Two.
