Last Chance Grade open house set for Tuesday evening

CRESCENT CITY, CA (MPG) - Caltrans will hold a public open house on the Last Chance Grade project from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds, 421 Highway 101 North, in Crescent City.

The project is a proposed 6,000-foot tunnel intended to bypass landslide challenges along coastal U.S. 101 south of Crescent City. It recently entered the design phase, and crews are now doing field investigations that will shape the tunnel’s final design.

At the open house, residents can hear about the project’s progress and what comes next, and talk directly with the project team.
