Letter: Homeless may want to work if they could

Dear Editor: Let’s look at the homeless problem we are having. They’re sleeping in our backyards and in our parks. The county needs to look at the problem. Ignoring it doesn’t help.

There are two ways to look at it. One side is that they really like to be homeless.

The other is they are wanting to work and get back on their feet. Maybe we should offer them jobs; our roads need fixed. Maybe we should open our empty buildings; many are falling apart.

Maybe we should have an employment office for the homeless. There are jobs out there, but they don’t go to work because they smell dirty.
