Democrats Continue to Kill Democracy in Sacramento
The Sacramento vultures are circling once again, their talons ready to rip the heart out of California’s freedom just as the people start to find hope. Attorney General Rob Bonta has once again used his position to undermine the political fairness that over 75% of voters want to see enacted: Voter ID.
Back in September, he gave his approval for the title of Proposition 39, but in true Democratic fashion, he abruptly changed the name and summary once he realized it might pass. This action completely alters the meaning and purpose of the proposed constitutional amendment.
The original title, which he approved and was used to collect 1.3 million signatures, was “Establishes Additional Voter Identification and Citizenship Verification Requirements”.
This was a simple and straightforward explanation; however, last Tuesday, Secretary of State Shirley Weber issued—under Bonta’s direction—new wording that is arguably the most biased proposition summary ever written for a voter guide.
This is even worse than his actions regarding the Safe Schools Act, which endangered students by eliminating and changing criminal codes in a way that did much greater harm than good.
All 58 counties in the state eventually overturned that proposition to correct his poor judgment, which evidently has not changed, as demonstrated by the new title for Proposition 39. The new title, featuring biased wording, is: “Prohibits Citizens from Voting Unless They Present Government Issued Identification”.
Notice the negativity of this standard Democratic statement; the summary is just as negative. It must be difficult to be a Democrat these days with the socialism and counterculture taking place within the party; it is no wonder they are always upset by any common-sense policy that doesn’t fit the criteria of more power and money.
They rely on half-truths and emotional statements designed to fool their party members and incite them to protest—and in many cases, to engage in violence and the destruction of both private and government property.
The Democratic leadership claims that the proposition will prevent people from voting, but they have no proof or studies to support this. Official ID is required in almost every country in the world for everything from using a credit card and driving to flying and receiving government aid.
They claim that minorities and people of color will be disenfranchised, which sounds racist, but the history of the Democratic Party has often involved racism, intimidation, and fearmongering.
This change in wording is not the only one you will see. Any title that the Democratic leadership thinks tells the truth and will benefit the people will be changed to negative wording to scare voters.
They continue to change the rules because they want to keep the voters uneducated and uninformed about how the measures will reduce our tax burdens and make California a place where people will want to live, not leave.
You will see similar changes in measures designed to limit the government from taxing your private property, retirement, savings and home ownership.
We need to remove these tax passing, money-hungry Democrats from office and let them know we are aware of their failures in education, affordable living, and accountability, as well as their tendency to favor criminals over victims.
Don’t be a victim of our local democrat representatives by adhering to their nondisclosure agreements. Don’t be quiet and vote as they tell you to do. Wake -up so Californian’s can find that Dream again instead of continuing the Nightmare our democrat legislators have forced on us.
