Letter: American Taliban

It appears the ugly takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban has fueled our own American Taliban, currently the revamped GOP under the supervision of their dear leader Trump. Governor Abbot of Texas has subjugated the women and girls in his state to second class citizens in a Taliban like move by his latest attack on a woman's right to choose. Rape or incest don't even count in Texas.

What's next on the agenda? Women forced to wear full body coverings in public? Only allowed out with a male escort? Possibly even the man who raped her? Perhaps Texas should have as its motto, "Love the zygote, hate the mother." The GOP has been hijacked by misogynists and religious zealots.

The Taliban must be proud of Texas.
